I only registered for this race last night after having that good speed session at the club on Monday and was hoping for another pb but knew it was a very hilly course and by 5pm I was feeling really rubbish anyway and thought there was no chance.

I started off pretty fast for me but did dramatically slow down on the hills as can be seen from my splits so at that point I did not think I would get a pb.  I managed to really speed up once we started going downhill and was doing all of my maths in my head again to work out if I could do it but did not realise I could until 2km to go and I had to work really hard for it!  It might only be 12 seconds but I am very chuffed with it and can’t wait to see what I can do a slightly less challenging course.  I won’t be able to check that out now until I come back from Malawi but I am planning on doing speed work out there with the kids at the school.  I will take my gps and measure out a 400m track and do work on that I hope!  Who knows what will happen really!
