No More No Thanks!

July 3, 2008

I’ve had enough of seeing the ‘No Thanks’ post as I have now given more thanks than a check-out girl in Tesco does in the average week! So, as Mrs pacepusher is away for 5 weeks, I thought I would Hijack her blog and put an end to Blogwars!

So here I am, pacepusher, saying “Thank you” one last time,  and proving I’m not such a bad husband after all!

I bought Mrs pacepusher a card to say thank you and composed the following poem which I wrote inside;

Thanks for your help in the West Highland Way Race,
as support teams go, mine was pretty ace!
You’ve supported me with this crazy idea,
from when I filled in the form with a sense of fear,
to when I went through those doors at the end of the race,
exhausted but happy, with a smile  on my face.
For your organisation in the weeks before,
for putting up with me talking about nothing more.
Knowing me well enough to see me through to the end,
joining me on training runs and for being a friend.
For being at checkpoints with more than I could need,
giving up your weekend so that I could succeed.
Having no sleep and missing a night out,
giving gentle encouragement with no need to shout.
A gentle rub of my back to keep me moving,
preventing the dream from finally fading.
And when it was all over, me the nutcase,
still  needed your help… getting up the staircase!!!

Now let this be an end to all things Blogwars!

Secondly, here’s a short video I made sometime ago of Mrs pacepusher running on the West Highland Way during various training runs. I was just experimenting with software at the time but thought I might as well  post it!

And finally, you can follow Mrs pacepusher’s educational adventure in Malawi here
