Tagging
June 8, 2008I have taken far too long to getting round to posting my replies from Allybea tagging me – sorry! Trying to finish the term off and get ready to go to Malawi on the last day of term is taking it’s toll!
- The rules of the game are posted at the start of your blog post.
- In this case, I’m asking you 5 questions about running.
- Each player answers the 5 questions on their own blog.
- At the end of your post you tag 5 other people and post their names.
- Go to their blogs and leave a comment on their blogs telling them they’ve been tagged and to look at your blog for details.
- When they’ve answered the questions on their own blog, they come back to yours to tell you.
Finally got round to answering this but have no-one else left to tag when I finish!
1. How would you describe your running 10 years ago?A lot less structured than it is now, mainly for fitness, weight loss and training for the women’s 10km’s back in the day when they were in the west end!
2. What is your best and worst run/race experience?
My best experience would have to be this year’s Edinburgh marathon as it was such a big pb and much more under the 4 hours than I thought I could get.
Like Allybea my worst may well have been the New York marathon - the misery of feeling rubbish and not getting the time that I was sure I could get after some really good training was soul destroying. I made up for it with the amount of shopping I did though and it only means I will have to go back and do it properly again some time!
3. Why do you run?
To increase my fitness and to lost weight but more so now to have goals for myself that I need to try and beat. I like having something to improve on, I also love my classes at the gym but there is not such a good way to know progress with that. A bit of comptition with other people does not hurt either now that I feel I am improving a bit. I also love being outside now and am enjoying running in different places etc. Of course combining running with trips to places like Berlin, New York, London and Chicago is good too!
4. What is the best or worst piece of advice you’ve been given about running?
Being encouraged to relax and have a positive mind set by lots of people was helpful, but only recently as I have only just started to feel I can see improvement.
I would not really say I have been given any bad advice.
5. Tell us something surprising about yourself that not many people would know.
As a few other people have also said I have a tatoo and a pierced naval!
I used to be really shy.
I lived in Canada for a couple of years.
I love reading.
